Welcome to my web page! My name is Rebecca, and I live in Charlotte, North Carolina.
I am a "Jill of All Trades", having been exposed to lots of different things. At various times of my life I have repaired televisions, built and repaired computers, run computer centers, programmed computers, worked in a call center, been a janitor, repaired scales (both mechanical and electronic), done carpentry work... life is interesting! Here's myresume, if you'd like to read it!
I've also been ordained by the Universal Life Church on February 13, 2001. The title I gave to myself is Seeker, because I believe that calling myself a priestess, shaman, reverend, or any other such religious title is an attempt to raise myself above others - the very last thing I wish to do! Why? Because my beliefs are leading me away from the old-time organized religions. Read more by clicking here!
This is my partner, Margaret. Did I mention I was a lesbian? Margaret is the most wonderful person I've ever met! She is a bit younger than I am, but she has been through some pretty tough experiences. She's lived through more than many thirty-year-olds. She makes me laugh! She has these voices and faces that can put me in *stitches*, no matter how serious I'm trying to be! We've been together since October 12, 2001, and after spending this time with her so far, I can only say that this woman is my heart. I adore her like I've never adored anyone!
Life has a wonderful way of sneaking things in on us. Just when we think we have things figured out, Life throws us a curve ball and we have to deal with it. I had been looking for a partner for about four years, and had pretty much given up on it after too many psychos... then along comes Margaret asking if I'd consider her! I almost turned her down because of the age difference... I am *so* glad that I didn't!
Some people, including members of my biological family, are homophobic. That means they're afraid of us homosexuals. Some of those people are so afraid, that they attack us verbally, mentally, and even physically. If you're one of those people, click here and learn what extremes your fears can take you to. Get over your fears, people, and learn to be a positive difference on this planet.Speaking of this planet, when I was born in 1958, there were only 2.9 billion people here. That's 2,900,000,000! As big as that number is, it now stands at 6.7 billion people - 6,700,000,000. That is over TWICE as many people on this rock as there were when I was born. More people, same land mass, same planet - hey, we better start learning how to get along and how to care about each other. If we don't, the hate and fear will likely spawn yet another world war... one which may incinerate the entire planet, and leave only the cockroaches. That's why that last link up there pointed to a hate group's site. I want you to think about where this planet is going, and work to make your corner of it better. If we all make this attempt, then we can do away with homophobia, terrorism, and all the things inbetween!
